Javier Rodriguez

Javier Rodriguez, born in Venice, currently living in London. As a Standart Thinking artist, he intends to deepen his Cultural Paths project, which aims to connect small organizations outside the cities and cultural practitioners in the northern parts of the Nordic countries and the Barents Sea region, at the same time exploring the importance of local traditions, ecology and networking.

While in residence in Oulu, Javier focused on collecting material from Oulu and Oulu’s surrounding areas and finding out the important commonalities of the local cultural communities.

Local traditions, sustainable development, cooperation and the well-being of communities are key in his artistic practice and how through the sharing of knowledge we are able to grow and maintain our principles under the ever-increasing pressures of our modern world.
