Tony Sjöman

Born in Gothenburg to Finnish parents, Tony “Rubin” Sjöman started as a graffiti painter as a nine-year-old in the suburb of Bergsjö in the 1980s. Tony has risen to international fame as a mural artist after living in New York for over ten years. His work has been used on an American Express credit card, in the Google headquarters, and his street art is visible on central locations around the United States. Sjöman first worked in the homcountry of his parents  in the summer of 2021, when the Swedish-Finnish Cultural Embassy brought the residency guest to paint the wall of the Raati stadium in Oulu, the wall of the concert hall in Turku, and the front of Kulttuurikauppila in Ii.
