KulttuuriKauppila Art Centre offers two artist residency programmes: the Artist-in-Residence (KKAiR) and the Artist-in-Community (KKAiC) programmes. KulttuuriKauppila Art Centre is located by the river Ii in an idyllic area rich in culture and tradition. The Art Centre houses two buildings: the residence built in the 1800s and the atelier built in 2006.<\/p>\n

Artists as well as curators and researchers of all disciplines are welcome to apply to the KulttuuriKauppila residency programmes. The residencies will be tailored for each artist or artist group according to their project plan.<\/p>\n

KulttuuriKauppila is one kilometre from the Ii municipal centre and Ii is 35 km north from Oulu.<\/p>\n

SPACES<\/strong><\/p>\n

The renovated residency space of 91 m2 includes both private rooms and shared areas. The two private bedrooms (15m2 each) are furnished with a bed (1\u20132 persons), a desk and closets. Shared studio spaces, kitchen and bathroom with a washing machine and shower.<\/p>\n

STUDIO SPACE AND EQUIPMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

The spacious guest studio (45 m2) has cabinet space, tables, good spotlights and a large variety of tools and equipment. Natural light falls beautifully into the space through the windows.<\/p>\n

EXPECTATIONS TOWARDS THE ARTIST<\/strong><\/p>\n

Travel and living expenses during the residency.
\nTravel and health insurances.<\/p>\n

Co-operation with KulttuuriKauppila in the artistic projects, in order to ensure pleasant and rewarding residency visits.<\/p>\n

KulttuuriKauppila\u202fresidencies offer artists time and space to focus on their artistic practice and research in a close-to-nature facility. Although the artists\u2019 own work and projects are at the core of the programme, we hope that our guests will share their expertise and experience through an event in collaboration with the\u202fKulttuuriKauppila\u202fteam (a maximum of one event\/month).<\/p>\n
