Oulu-AiR is an international artist residency program coordinated by Kulttuuriyhdistys Kulttuuribingo Ry in Oulu. The purpose of Oulu-AiR’s activities is to promote the visits and networking of international artists in Oulu and to enrich Oulu’s cultural life by producing new contemporary art content.
The residency is visited by both guest artists from cooperating organizations and artists selected through an open call from various fields of art. During autumn 2022, Oulu-AiR also offers working opportunities for Ukrainian artists as part of the Ecoc2026 Rauhankone–project. During the residency period, the artists implement an artistic project for the public, such as an exhibition or an open studio event. Artists selected through an open call will be paid an artist fee. The residence apartment and office are located in the center of Oulu.
The project is financed by the Art Promotion Center and the Ecoc2026 Rauhankone–project. The partners of the residency program are Kulttuuriosuuskunta Ilme, Pohjoinen Valokuvakeskus and Flow Productions.
